The Hotel Die Port van Cleve opened in 1870; its name refers to the previous building on the same spot, dating from 1592 in which Heineken brewed his first beer. The original interior, with its oak frame and blue Delft tiles is still intact. Dam Square and the Royal Palace are just ten meters away.
