HOTEL INTRODUCTION
Kings Manor Hotel is set in a former convent and, with its modern glass fronted foyer, is located on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The hotel is less than a mile from Portobello beach and its golden sand. Rooms are decorated in warm shades of pink, blue and red; some look towards the sea, some towards the Lammermuir hills. All have complimentary toiletries and newspapers.
The hotel has two bars and two restaurants. The old fashioned Rosemount Bar has an intimate atmosphere, while the Zest Bar has a livelier atmosphere, attracting locals as well as hotel guests to its glass fronted bar. Options Bistro is open all day, serving foods ranging from steak and pizza to cappuccino and carrot cake. Lauders restaurant serves contemporary Scottish at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests can work off the calories at the Fountains Leisure Club, with its exercise classes, gym and tennis courts. The Balcony Health Club offers Elemis treatments and complementary therapies. Edinburgh's attractions are within easy reach, by public transport or by car. The number 44 bus takes guests to and from the city center for about ú1. Taxis can be hailed in the street, although the center of Edinburgh is best explored on foot. Edinburgh Airport is nine miles away.
